Honey and sugar are both used as sweetener to enhance the taste of food or drinks. Both contain fructose and glucose, but in different ratios. Of the two, honey is generally considered to be the healthier option. This carbohydrate is made up of 40% fructose, 30% glucose, water, pollen, and minerals (magnesium and potassium). Additionally, it contains amino acids, vitamins, and antioxidants. These antioxidants help maintain a good balance of free radicals in the body & prevent cell death. On the other hand, sugar contains 50% fructose and 50% glucose along with trace amounts of minerals.
